On the parlor floor of a Crown Heights brownstone, this two-bedroom floor-through apartment has lofty ceilings, elegant period details, and a garden with a bluestone patio. The four-story, four-unit Italianate building is located outside the historic district at 1090 Dean Street between Franklin and Bedford.

The layout is set up with a combo living-dining room in the front parlor, galley kitchen and bathroom in the center, and two bedrooms in the rear. There are picture-frame moldings, mid-19th century door and window moldings, plaster crown moldings, original wood floors, and impressively tall windows and arched doors throughout.

The parlor has a handsome creamy white carved marble mantel with brackets and rope and scroll motifs. It’s topped by a giant framed mirror, and the room’s ceiling light is a modern pendant fixture with two globes.

The bigger of the two bedrooms appears to be open to the kitchen via a doorway without a door. It has an arched and bracketed niche and a modern glass door leading out to steps down to the garden. Both bedrooms have closets.

The recently updated galley kitchen has a marble-topped counter as well as a wood counter and open wood shelving on brass brackets. The bathroom is not pictured. The listing does not mention laundry, a dishwasher, or air conditioning although a mini split compressor is visible in the backyard.

Listed as “coming soon” by Compass broker Kishia Marte and with no broker fee for the renter, it’s priced at $3,600 a month. Worth it?
